With the mardtb desktop beamline we bring all those nice features that users know from synchrotron beamlines to the home lab. It offers a very high degree of automatization. Virtually all movements are motorized. All motors are controlled by a micro-processor that can be operated via an Ethernet interface from a host computer.
Optionally, the mardtb goniostat can be controlled from a mobile device (Android, iOS coming up soon). Please look at the mardtb app page for more details.
The mardtb desktop beamline supports a large variety of X-ray detectors, i.e. the mar345 image plate detector, the EIGER2 and PILATUS4 series of hybrid pixel detectors by Dectris as well as the CCD detectors by Rayonix. It may even support detectors by other detector manufacturers. Please ask us!
While the mardtb desktop beamline has been designed originally for single crystal diffraction experiments (SCD) it may also be used for certain types of powder diffraction experiments (XRPD) and other types of applications. In particular when used with the mar345 detector that is the perfect detector for all kind of X-ray diffraction experiments where detector size matters more than read-out speed.
